Hooch is crazy T-Shirt success

A few months ago we thought we’d put together a few designs for some t-shirts to test out some of the ‘print on demand’ services available through the web (cafepress.com, printfection.com etc). We needed a couple of t-shirts for ourselves and becasue we only needed one or two we went down the print on demand road.

We had some fairly complex designs and a couple that would be printed on dark tees as well. We really wanted to test the quality of the print and the garments themselves and I’m happy to say that the quality is pretty bloody good all round.

One of the designs we uploaded is featured below and is a phrase from that hugely funny t.v. show ‘Scrubs’. It was quick and easy to make so we just banged it onto the website and forgot all about it … in fact we had pretty much forgotten about all the t-shirts we had uploaded until it occurred to us that, with our new fandangled blog, we could easily link back to those t-shirts, showcase them and, lets be honest, maybe even sell one or two.

Today when I logged into the print on demand system (www.cafepress.com) to get the design details I was met with a rather nice suprise. A whole heap of Scrubs fans had found and purchased our ‘Hooch is crazy’ design! It’s now out there in the real world on shirts, caps and quite possibly a pair of undies.

Now, the really cool part here is that all we did was make and upload the design. We didn’t have to print the shirts, make screens, handle shipping or whatever. Nothing at all. It’s just ’set and forget’ (like Tony’s wifes cooking) … and now it’s actually made us a wee bit of cash. :)
