Mandrake Falls T-shirt

Oct 28 : Posted by Mark

Very similar to the t-shirt worn by Adam Sandler in the hilarious feel-good movie “Mr Deeds”.

This is one of the first designs we uploaded to cafepress.com and, being the Adam Sandler fan that I am, it was also the first cafepress.com shirt that we sold.

It’s a very accurate design and printed on a great quality Hanes tee that comes in any colour you like … as long as that colour is Navy. You didn’t see Longfellow with a yellow t-shirt now did you.

Get it here.

Top Gear Test track to be in GT5!

Oct 27 : Posted by Mark

As a long time fan of Jeremy, James, Hamster and the Stig (as many ex girlfriends will attest) I have just discovered what could well be the best news in universe ever. Top Gear have teamed up with Polyphony Digital to include the Top Gear test track in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 game for the PlayStation 3!

Back in September my wife Glen and I were shouted to an evening out at the Hamilton Great Race Masquerade Ball by our good friend Gemma. Well, talk about fantastic! There was millions and billions of people there, all dressed up super flash and wearing masks. We were not prepared for the awesomeness that greeted us. The organisers put on masses of entertainment, heaps of decorations and mountains of food.

But enough about that.

Glen and Gemma had been discussing the ball for a while and had decided that they would simply die if they were to wear store bought masks. They said:

“We can just make something - I’m sure we can quickly pop something together”.

Now to anyone else this sentence would translate thusly: “Glen and Gemma would quickly make their own masks.”

But not to me, the warning bells started chiming in my head. The womanese translator cells in my brain heard …

The American Dodgeball Association of America is America’s finest dodgeball association.

Made famous by the fantastic Vince Vaughn movie, Dodgeball - a true underdog story, we found that we couldn’t find a decent ADAA t-shirt anywhere on the web … so we made our own.

Ultimately there will be two versions of this shirt (one with the script below and one without) and you can find the first version available right here.

Hooch is crazy T-Shirt success

Oct 17 : Posted by Mark

A few months ago we thought we’d put together a few designs for some t-shirts to test out some of the ‘print on demand’ services available through the web (cafepress.com, printfection.com etc). We needed a couple of t-shirts for ourselves and becasue we only needed one or two we went down the print on demand road.

A lot of people think that designers push the magic logo button on the computer and a new logo is instantly created.

Well its actually a lot more involved than that.

Tuna Casserole

Oct 12 : Posted by Tony

Ok, now that this blog has given me the ability to post crap online I have one burning question I need to ask. No it’s not “how do we attain inner peace?” or “how do we stop world poverty”, It’s:

“What the hell is this tuna casserole thing and has anyone ever seen it before…?”

One of the first dates I had with my wife (back when she was worth dating), involved me popping round to her house for a home cooked meal. What was served up to me looked like it had already been eaten and hadn’t stayed down. I definitely feared that if I ate it it wouldn’t stay down.

Halo 3

Oct 12 : Posted by Tony

As I am the only person left in the world who has played Halo 3 and who has not made a comment I thought I should really say a few words. Just to keep the universe in balance.

I have the pasty complexion and twitchy eyes of a person who spends too much time with boxes of moving images. I have attained a rank of first degree couch potato and love nothing more than to plug my brain into worlds where well positioned frag grenades or sword thrusts can solve almost any problem. Thus my words should be taken as gospel. And here they are: “Halo 3 is frikken awesome and the greatest thing of things out of all things in the whole of thingdom ever…”

Ghetto Radio Goodness

Oct 11 : Posted by Tony

We spend a lot of time in the office. There are no panoramic views. No flash architectural nuances. No built in bar or coffee lounge. The only atmospheric pleasure we get is from listening to music. Well it doesn’t take long before one’s music collection gets a little repetitive. But we need not have feared because as per usual the great and good internet did bestow upon us the greatest radio station of all time….

“Ghetto Radio”

Now you may be thinking: “Ghetto? Surely that is all gangsta rap and songs about cap’s-in-asses and big blingy wheels.” But nay! Ghetto Radio has an awesome mix of music from throughout time and space mixed with humour and creativity. Don’t believe me? Then dial it up through iTunes (get it here) or visit: www.poprock80s.com

Lifecode Matrix - Restart Program

Oct 10 : Posted by Tony

Graham Potter of Life Code came to the Martians with a plan. To help kids that are either on the wrong track or about to step onto it. To aid in this he was going to need some tools in the form of Workbooks, which is where we came in.

Graham outlined the style of imagery he wanted and “sha-zam”, the 12 page MyMatrix Workbook and complimentary Facilitator Book were born. Well, not just like that, there was a fair amount of effort and designery doodling involved too.

A pilot version of the program is now running with sets of the Workbooks being distributed along with the rest of the program material to Social Workers around the North Island. If all goes well the program will go nation wide and Graham will have the chance to see his idea change some lives for the better. To find out more about Graham and the work he does visit: www.lifecodematrix.com
